What makes these sessions different

Since 2018, we've been running front-end workshops that focus on the parts most courses skip — how to handle edge cases, structure CSS that scales, and make decisions when there's no single right answer. Each session is built around a specific layout challenge, not abstract theory.

You'll work through problems that mirror what you face in actual projects. No slides, no passive watching. You code, test, break things, and figure out why. The group is small enough that you can ask questions without waiting, and everyone shares their approach so you see multiple ways to solve the same problem.

We don't promise you'll become an expert overnight. What you will get is a clearer understanding of how CSS properties interact, why certain patterns work better than others, and a collection of techniques you can apply immediately. If you need more guidance after the workshop, reach out through our contact page and we'll point you in the right direction.

Taught by Siobhan Veldkamp

Lead Facilitator

Siobhan has spent the last twelve years building interfaces for education platforms, financial tools, and content-heavy sites where layout problems get complicated fast. She started running these workshops because too many developers were learning CSS in isolation and missing the context that makes it click.

Her approach is straightforward — show the problem, work through it together, explain why one solution works better than another. She's not interested in teaching you tricks; she wants you to understand the underlying mechanics so you can solve problems you haven't seen before.
